We are delighted to welcome our new neighbours on Bermondsey Street, Eames Fine Art Gallery. The space is run by Rebecca and Vincent Eames who showcase original prints and paintings by modern & contemporary artists.
I just wanted to write a quick post about the changes we’ve made recently to our website….
Over the past 3 years the services we provide have grown and changed in not only creating beautiful bespoke dresses, but also to include our limited edition Studio Range and couture Bridal gowns. We are now delighted to unveil updates to the website that showcase the best of all the services we offer and make it as easy as possible for our customers to learn more about what we do and who we are.
To celebrate the arrival of Spring we are delighted to announce that our SS13 Studio Range is now available at our Bermondsey Street studio.
Despite a cold start to the year the daffodils are starting to emerge, blossom is sprouting on the trees and it is finally time to update your look with a few key essentials for the summer months.
We were delighted to attend the preview evening of the new Kaffe Fassett exhibition at the Fashion & Textile Museum last week. The museum is always a source of inspiration for us here at the studio and as a neighbour on Bermondsey Street we were keen to see the riot of colour this new exhibition promised… We were not disappointed. The celebration of craft, textiles and vibrant print that Fassett is known for hits you as soon as you walk into the room. Beautiful columns of enormous, detailed quilts are side by side with fabric swatches, knitwear, painting and ceramics. It really showcased not only the themes of colour, humour and texture running through his work but the sheer diversity of materials and inspiration Fassett draws from.
To kick off the new year in style we are having a January Sale on our beautiful Studio Range.
We are offering up to 60% off selected garments – so whether you need that perfect blazer to make you a success at work or a new winter coat to keep you warm and chic through 2013 we have some gorgeous garments at fabulous prices.
2012 has been a fantastic year for us and full of exciting opportunities. As we leap from one fabulous project to the next the months fly by, so we always take stock as the year draws to a close to see what we achieved and how far our we have come.
I am delighted to be giving a talk on modern couture at the Fashion and Textile Museum on 24th January 2013 as part of their London Couture season. As neighbours on Bermondsey Street we have enjoyed sharing a passion for fashion and love of all sartorial crafts with the museum for a long time. Their exhibitions always remind us to look to the past for inspiration, the future for innovation and our peers for support in such a creative and varied industry.
To bring us into the festive season with a bang Bermondsey Street is hosting its own version of the ’12 Days of Christmas’ for the first 12 days of December. To mark each day, a different shop, studio or restaurant is paying homage to the famous Christmas carol of the same name in their own individual style. On the 7th December our studio will be channeling ’7 swans a swimming’ with a nod to swan lake-esque poise and glamour in our collection. We have made some beautiful party pieces for the Studio Range and have sourced special jewellery for that perfect Christmas gift.
A few months ago we had the pleasure of meeting Samantha Clarke – an independent stylist with a twist. Her business Zukuri UnLtd works with female entrepreneurs to get them visible in their business and create a wardrobe that empowers them to present their most professional self.
We have always tried to empower women with the clothes we make and as our clients are often professionals in business we immediately struck up a rapport over style and the value of a well curated wardrobe. Samantha understands the necessity of having clothes that work for you, making it easy to put together several looks that get the most from your wardrobe and reflect the professionalism of a modern career woman.
London Fashion Week was especially exciting for us this year as it saw the launch of our new Studio Range. After 2 years in our Bermondsey Street studio making beautiful made to measure garments and bespoke bridal wear, we wanted to bring our ethos of sustainable, quality garments to a ready to wear range.
